BUCKHORN'S
CITADEL APPROVED
FOR RAILROAD TRANSPORT
The Revolutionary Collapsible Bulk Container for Liquid-type Loads
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Buckhorn's Citadel Bulk container was recently evaluated by the American Association of Railroads (AAR),
Damage Prevention and Freight Claim Committee and found acceptable for railroad transport.
The 48L x 45W x 46H collapsible container is the optimal size, capacity,
and strength to hold up to 300 gallons or 3,000 lbs. of liquid-type product. Developed for
users throughout the food and material processing industry, the Citadel replaces bulk
wooden containers, corrugated gaylords, and drums for transport and long-term storage.
With its smooth surfaces and
rounded edges, the container prevents product contamination, damage, and worker injury
from protruding nails, splinters, and the sharp, metal banding associated with common
wooden containers. The Citadel's unique lid design features recessed latches to secure the
lid from multiple anchor points, contoured channels to prevent the accumulation of water
and debris, and edges that lay flush with the side panels to prevent breakage from impact.
When stacking containers, the lid interlocks with the base feet and runners of containers
below for secure stacking up to five containers high.
Replacing alternative bulk
packaging with the Citadel reduces operating costs by lowering transportation expense and
eliminating costs of disposal and metal banding. The container collapses efficiently to
cube out trailers and railcars to reduce storage and return freight costs, yielding a 20%
space savings over drums. Manufactured from FDA-approved high-density polypropylene
(HDPP), the Citadel is weather and chemical resistant and 100% recyclable.
